International Film Festival of Kerala – IFFK
International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) is annually organised by Kerala State Chalachitra Academy on behalf of Department of Cultural Affairs, Government of Kerala. The festival held on Nov – Dec every year is one of the prominent film festivals in India. National and international film including short films and documentaries are screened during IFFK. A competition section for the films from Asian and African and Latin American countries is the highlight of the festival.
International Film Festival of Kerala 2016
The 21st edition of International Film Festival of Kerala will be conducted from 09 – 16 December 2016 at Thiruvananthapuram the capital city of Kerala, India. Various theatres / cinema halls at Thiruvananthapuram will be the venue. Films from different categories – world cinema, competition films, curated sections, jury films, special screenings, etc. will be screened on these days. The festival will also conduct award presentations, seminars and other events. Some of the films screened this year include Front Cover (curated sections), Clair Obscur / Tereddüt (competition films) and Onaatah (Indian cinema now).
Kerala State Chalachitra Academy
Kerala State Chalachitra Academy is an autonomous non-profit institution by Govt. of Kerala to promote cinema. The academy mainly aims at conducting Film Festivals all over the State, preserving and propagating Malayalam Cinema, to promote film education and honoring personalities and films that has contributed to Malayalam cinema industry.
