Mukteswar Dance Festival is the three day festival organised by Department of Tourism of Government of Odisha exclusively for the Indian Classical Dance Odissi. The festival is staged in the premises of the Mukteswar Temple in Bhubaneswar, the capital city of Odisha. Both young and both veteran dancers participate in this festival. Solo, duet and group performances are presented in this festival.
Mukteswar Dance Festival 2018 is conducted from 14th to 16th January 2018 . The festival will openup with the odissi dance performance by Namrata Mehta from Mumbai. Odissi duet by Bijan Palai & Rudraprasad Swain and odissi group by Rojalin Mohapatra & group will be conducted on the first day.
On the second day, 15th Jan, performances by Shalini Patnaik (solo), Sipra Swain & Aishwariya Singdev (duet) and Debamitra Sengupta & group (group) will be conducted at the festival. Solo performance by Gayatri Chand, duet by Sarita Mishra & Manisha Manaswini and group performance by Bichitrananda Swain & group will be on the concluding day of the dance festival.
Live telecast of the festival will be available on DD Bharati and live live streaming will be on webcast.gov.in/mdf/. The festival will be held on all the days from 06.00 pm to 08.30 pm.
Mukteshwar Temple dedicated to Lord Siva is a monument well known for its architectural marvel. The temple, also known as the ‘Gem of Odisha architecture’ attract many visitors. Every year Department of Tourism (Govt of Odisha) organises Mukteswar Dance Festival, a three-day dance festival in January, in the temple premises.
