Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav, the cultural festival of India

Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav, the cultural festival of India organised by the Ministry of Culture, Government of India will be held from 5th – 8th March, 2017 at Kalagram, Mallahatalli Road, Bengaluru, Karnataka (India).The festival will showcase India’s traditional, folk and tribal performing arts. More than 600 performers from different states of the country will participate in the festival.  An exhibition and sale of handicrafts from natural materials is conducted as part of the festival on these days. Traditional cuisines from all over India will also be there in the festival.

Entry to all the events is free.  There will be live streaming of the events on these days. (Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav2017 or Rashtriya Sanskriti Mahotsav)

06.30 pm: Inauguration followed by presentation of folk & tribal dances (Venue: Kalagram Amphitheatre)

06 March 2017 (Monday)
11.00 am:
Folk & tribal dance competition for collages & schools from Bengaluru (Venue: Kalagram Auditorium)
Painting competition for schools & colleges (Venue: Kalagram Open Space)
Outreach Folk & Tribal Dances – Chandapura
Outreach Folk & Tribal Dances – Kamala Nagar

07 March 2017 (Tuesday)
11.00 am:
Quiz on Indian Culture for schools & colleges (Venue: Kalagram Open Space)
Outreach Folk & Tribal Dances – Mattikeri
Outreach Folk & Tribal Dances – Bommanahalli
06.30 pm:  (Venue: Kalagram Amphitheatre)
1. Classical dance & music by ‘Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuv Puraskar’ Awardess.
2. Folk / Tribal dance performances

08 March 2017 (Wednesday)
06.30 pm: (Venue: Kalagram Amphitheatre)
1. Valedictory followed by choreographic presentation of Folk & Tribal dances
2. Performances by Women Folk Artists on the occassion of World Women’s Day (Presented by dept of Culture, Govt of Karnataka)

The exhibition of handicrafts and food will be conducted on all days from 03.00 pm to 09.00 pm. Hands on training to students on various handicrafts will be from 10.00 am to 03.00 pm on all days.
