‘Remembering Rukmini Devi Festival’, the dance-music festival is held annually in memory of Rukmini Devi Arundale, the legendry Bharatanatyam artist and founder, of Kalakshetra, Chennai (India). The festival organised by Kalakshethra Foundation is held in the month of February every year.
This year ‘Remembering Rukmini Devi Festival 2017’ will be conducted from 26 February to 02 March 2017 at Rukmini Arangam, Kalakshetra, Thiruvanmiyur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

Rukmini Devi Arundale, (1904-1986 ) a pioneering dancer and choreographer, was born in Madurai, Tamil Nadu. She established Kalakshetra, an academy of dance, music and arts, with a vision to preserve and promote Indian art and culture. She was honored with many national and international awards, including the Padma Bhushan (1956) and Sangeet Natak Akademi (1957) award.
